Come on , Thats what people do!!!

I never understood what creates mob mentality and definitely don't approve of it. But that said its very easy to unite few people and lead them if you are cursing a popular person. People don't know what they love but they definitely know who they want to hate and they love to be lead. When they can't do something effectively themselves they go complaining about other people who do it.

What am I talking about? Kathy Sierra's exit from the blogosphere. Although I am not sure what I would have done if I were her, I feel she made the wrong move, she surrendered to some morons. I want to tell her "Come on, Kathy, Thats what people do". I aint no popular blogger but there was a mob that used to post stupid, anti-Badri comments when I started blogging in my company's intranet blog. Since it was intranet I could locate them ,knew very well who they were but I couldnt do much about it and I dint want to "For thats what people do".

Ya I agree that in the turn of incidents that Kathy quotes there is too much misogyny and it just aint similar to a male blogger being maligned but still "thats what people do". If strong people with popularity and support that Kathy's got surrender to these mob what about others who cant even put up a fight. I sincerely hope Kathy is just taking a break , i always loved reading her blog.

Now that said , although there is freedom to wear the dress you want , if u wear a micro mini and go around alone in the night you are asking for trouble. There is no point complaining that people are uncouth , barbarians after something wrong happens. Similarly although there is freedom of speech , with all due respect, when you say stuff like

"“My Life as a Dog…umm, I mean as a pregnant woman"

"“Nothing could’ve prepared me for my pregnancy like the gastric bypass surgery; in fact, I probably would not have gotten pregnant if I didn’t have the procedure done. Ok, Robert had a part in that too, but I digress "

"So to all the inquiring minds who want to know: we think that the baby was conceived in the comfort of our very own home in Half Moon Bay, California.”"

You are asking for trouble. Just my opinion.

What the bleep do we know?

I always believed man kind will progress from information to more information to more information and finally lose them all to find god. Lot of questions confronted me around the time i set foot in hyderabad. The answers led me to the search of god.

Questions like why are we here, why do we die, why does earth rotate , are we real. It fascinated me that there are people trying to learn more and more about a subject to get phds and there are people who learn a little of more and more subjects to develop social networking skills. I asked myself where the world is headed.

Advaita and the message that everything but god is just an illusion seemed very convincing. This video strengthens my believes thanks to scoots for sending me the same.

A beautiful poem and my ending to it!!!

The Journey of the Wild Rose

One at a time, the tender petals of a rose bloom
For yet another one, so as to make room.

Until the wilderness sees the last of them open
And reveal within it, the beauty of the pollen.

A bee hums by on a day that is warm and sunny;
Finding the flower makes his day and so does it make for some honey!

As the beautiful day breaks into dusk,
The breeze carries around it the sweet fragrance of musk.

And as the sun’s rays make way for the shade
The colour of the petals begins to fade.

The gentle evening wind blows softly like a magic wand,
Carrying the seeds for the next rose to the fertile soil by the pond.

My ending.........

Some seeds into the pond fall,
some into the neighborhood crawl.

Some stay in the forest,
some fall near some nest.

Spring comes and they all bloom.
Some get gifted to a bride by her groom.

A few decorate a garden
Some get into books of a beautiful maiden

Then the roses fade
And to the dustbin they go cos of their now low grade

Strange that they all had the same start
and they all looked like a work of art

Strange that they met the same end
Into the sand they alas did bend

But those that adorned the maiden lived the best
Not cos they were better than the rest

But cos they got loved and they served
And those who served and got loved always lived like they deserved .

Water - Why the H did it get nominated !!!

India is a poor country, Its THIRD WORLD, people there are babarians they have weird ways - somehow these concepts seem to sell a lot in the west, but then I might be mistaken, there might be other reasons why movies on those lines get good viewership. But then whats more important than the viewership is the academy nomination.

I have always felt that the Academy was miserably wrong with its selection, take for example giving Departed what should have been given to Babel , but Water strongly proves me correct . How the hell did it get nominated.

Its boring, dragging and got not proper story. Ok what happened/happens to the widow,s is wrong but the same is not portrayed as effectively as it could have been. Whats been given more weightage is Lisa ray , her beauty and her being a pros. And the director i guess is grossly mistaken with her stats about the manu nithi, the reason behind widow non-remarriage in old india and the number of widows and all that.

But wateva be the case the movie is totally not worth watching and inspite of some good performance (Seema biswas in particular) is a total drag. And i cant understand why there is gandhi in the movie was he brought in so that academy notices the movie if yes then bad move. Anyways i will give it a 2 on 5 , dont watch.

Nishabd - A review!!!

Saw Nishabd 2 days back. Although this again is no new idea and just an indian version of "American Beauty" , Ram Gopal Verma doesnt disappoint. The movie is decently made and all actors especially Amitabh and Jiah Khan render an applause worthy performance.

Before going ahead with the review a few words about Jiah. She is hot , arresting eyes, beautiful lips and shows a lot of leg. I wouldnt be surprised if she is named the next indian sex goddess. Most importantly she has acted well too. Her voice is a bit of a turn off at times when she shrieks but what are dubbing artists for. If she plans her moves well I am sure she will do well for herself.

Now back to the movie, the movie is about a 60 year old man(Amitabh) who falls in love with a 18 year old gal(Jiah) when she visits his house with his daughter for her vacations. Does amitabh have a daughter when he is 42(Jiah and his daughter are of the same age in the movie) is a question thats left unanswered but it aint important. Although there is a lot of scope for direction and bringing out emotions RGV doesnt experiment much and keeps the going good until he reaches the climax.

The climax is a bit of a screw up, ends abruptly(absurdly) and tries to adhere to the indian culture or something. One is left unsure about whether the movie has ended or not till the "The End" label comes up.

The lip lock between Amitabh and Jiah was unnecessary why do people in bollywood believe that lip lock means love, i am no moral police but i dint like that part. But let me not digress the movie is a good 3 on 5 and definitely worth watching once.
