Spiritually Detached, Emotionally Attached!!!

Walking or trying to walk the spiritual path can have weird effects on a person, I presume. While typically a failure would have saddened me and I would have griped for a while . My most recent failure exposed me to very many weird feelings

First sadness, then disappointment, then rejection, then deep sense of failure and disappointment

Then spiritual angle steps in, fear of feeling sad, fear of losing calmness of mind, disappointment about having let a materialistic failure affect the state of the self.

I guess from the turn of events that spirituality is not going to be easy on me and that I am yet too too far away from the state called - spiritual ;-)

Talking to Complex People!!!

The problem with talking to "not so normal" people is you are never sure of how they are going to interpret you. A casual sentence like "thanks for the time and help" can be misinterpreted is something that I realized today.

I have a small problem when it comes to interviews/conversations , when given enough time I start analyzing the interviewer/speaker and once i find out that they are people with complexes(superior or inferior), normal interviewing becomes difficult. With an inferiority complex person there is always a fear of sounding arrogant or aggressive. With a superiority complex person there is a problem of sounding too weak or not so confident.

Had a conversation with one such "complex" person and have now been labeled Arrogant, Aggressive, Domineering and Over Confident. (dunno why those adjective make me feel like HARI SADU) . I am not denying the fact that I am a bit of every one of those adjectives mentioned above, but am also totally convinced I am as a person - more positive adjectives and less negative adjectives. Also I am trying real seriously to reduce the degree of those negative adjectives , so although one person's opinion shouldn't really matter much, I am hurt that someone thought i am all bad.

That said perhaps thats what happens when you talk to "complex" people.

Cranberries Linger Lyrics!!!

Beautiful romantic song, love it ...

Embedded Video

-------------------------------------------------
If you, if you could return, don't let it burn, don't let it fade.

I'm sure I'm not being rude, but it's just your attitude,
It's tearing me apart, It's ruining everything.

I swore, I swore I would be true, and honey, so did you.
So why were you holding her hand? Is that the way we stand?
Were you lying all the time? Was it just a game to you?

But I'm in so deep. You know I'm such a fool for you.
You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ha, ha.
Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to,
Do you have to let it linger?

Oh, I thought the world of you.
I thought nothing could go wrong,
But I was wrong. I was wrong.
If you, if you could get by, trying not to lie,
Things wouldn't be so confused and I wouldn't feel so used,
But you always really knew, I just wanna be with you.

But I'm in so deep. You know I'm such a fool for you.
You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ha, ha.
Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to,
Do you have to let it linger?

And I'm in so deep. You know I'm such a fool for you.
You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ha, ha.
Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to,
Do you have to let it linger?

You know I'm such a fool for you.
You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ha, ha.
Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to,
Do you have to let it linger?

Even if God is not Dangerous , Religion largely is!!!

Sometimes I am so forced to go the Richard Dawkins way. I thought what was ailing India was not religion as such but illiteracy. But this news item on "time" abt the sufferings of a mother of 8, married to someone 30 years elder to her as the 4th wife is shocking.

http://www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1675126,00.html

I cant believe this happened in so called developed nations. Some of the beliefs like

"Salvation depends on what your husband thinks about you" are so god damned stupid.

Now I guess I have some clue on what ails us , its not religion , nor illiteracy , but BLIND FAITH

Bhool Bhulaiyya!!! - Movie Review

What was Priyadarshan Thinking ? Thats the first question that comes to my mind when i retrospect on the horrible movie that it was.

Manichitrathaazhu was a super hit and so was the remake Chandramukhi so the story line is quite good, time pass when interspersed with some good comedy. But thats the part Priyadarshan dint understand "Good Comedy" wonder who ever gave him the king of comedy title.

Rajpal Yadav is wasted in the scattered 4 or 5 scenes that he got in the movie. Paresh Rawal is just in his usual sense, but the timings of his jokes are some what incorrect. Vidya balan is OK but nothing compared to Jyothika or Shobana. I strongly feel that Urmila wud have done a much better job. Shiney Ahuja does a good job and Akshay Kumars work doesnt draw complaints. At the end of the day the movie just is not worth watching unless u are extremely bored and got nothing more to do.

Dance vs Music !!!

A traditional tamil brahmin upbringing gave me a decent exposure into the fields of carnatic music and bharathanatyam even when i was a kid who hadnt learnt cricket. But in spite of such a prolonged exposure , i have never come to like dance even though its such a beautiful art form.

Lets broadly classify dance as the amorous or related(fun and merry) and the non-amorous(divine) ones. Salsa, Jazz and the other forms perhaps because of their amorous nature seem to involve the audience and take them to a different level . But in case of a classical non-amorous dance form the audience needs to be at a very different plane to get involved.

May be its just me , but whenever i have gone to an arangetram it looks obvious to me that but for a few dance lovers the rest of the audience only enjoys the music. Music on the other hand somehow seems to involve the audience and doesnt require them to be on an elevated plane.

what say ?

Random Poem

Suddenly started writing a poem and this happened
-----------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to my life its almost like yours
Events may change but the pattern remains
Infant, Child, Adult I grow like you with the years
And although the degree varies, like you i pass through pleasure and pains

Once I was very happy with whatever I was given
I Satiated with excitement when something new crossed me
Dint know what heaven was, but life felt like heaven
But yet there were moments when I thought "adult" was the state to be

Then struck education and so did competition
I was told how to eat and drink, worse also how to think
And in the process of learning reading, writing and recitation
With jealousy, comparison and materialism my heart began to shrink

Dunno why but suddenly there was this urge to stand out
Push myself into the limelight and get noticed
But materialism and attention seeking my attitudes were the world would shout
Making me think if money and fame were things, only i fancied

I turned around and saw people wanted something but asked for another
The hypocrism of theirs, civilization they called
While the objective was for them to gold gather
As civilized their greed they named duty to the father

Sometimes i wonder if i remain civilized
And do what they all do , go where they go
What at lifes end would have i realized
Wouldnt life that i lived , vain go

There must be something more to life than making more of my kind
Than saving for future, name , fame and career
My life is like yours its just a grind
And here i am wondering in which direction to steer.

Auto Trouble!!!

Its the IT capital of India and no one who is into business loses any opportunities to make as much money as possible, or should i say extract as much money as possible from the IT folks.

Perhaps in the top contenders for the 1st best extractor are the auto walas. No one wants to come at metre rates, its always 20 rupees more or some random figure and no metre usage at all. I had a horrible experience with auto walas at Bangalore last week , what was more horrible than the rates they demanded was the disrespect and scorn they showed when one said no.

An auto wala even said "ok keep going , u are in IT and are crying for extra 10 bucks, miser".

Some real good system to teach these folks a good lesson is one of the urgent requirements of Bangalore.

cheers,
--Badri--

P.S : Autowalas of that kind are normal in my birth place - chennai, but luckily hyderabad where i stay is very very good when it comes to autos

P.P.S : auto = auto rickshaws
